This shirt is made using a thick early 1900s linen from England, milled at a time when flax was still beaten and spun by hand into fabric built to last generations. Linens of this weight and quality often became true family heirlooms, passed down as part of a household's permanent collection rather than replaced with the seasons.
This particular textile spent nearly a century tucked away in an English estate's textile cupboard, preserved through decades of changing hands and households before finally resurfacing. Its heavier hand and dense weave reflect an era before industrialized textile production, when durability and craftsmanship were the point rather than the exception.
Cut and finished by hand, this piece keeps the weight and character of a linen that has already outlived several generations.
