About
In 10th grade, I had the most influential teacher by the name of David Brown. In his class, he required us to memorize a list of about 300 vocab words - the definitions of which he wrote himself. One word however stood out to me the moment I heard its definition. It is as follows:
Vulnerability - the endurance of risk for the possibility of love
Enthralled by the endless possibilities and countless interpretations of love, I have attempted to embrace certain risks as you never know what you may find on the other side.
In recent travels while studying in Spain, I began to collect old textiles - table runners, curtains, tablecloths, tea towels, blankets. As someone who loves different cultures and the stories that come with them, I wanted to take a forgotten piece of time and turn it into something wearable so that someone could tell that story themselves. In my search for said textiles, I found myself in new places oftentimes off the beaten path meeting people I never would have thought of meeting. Fully embodying that endurance of risk, I found a love from the stories in these old pieces that I could soon share with other people.
Therefore, ENDuranceOfRiskPossibilityOfLove (ENDORPOL) just made sense!
Each piece created is 1/1 and hand made by my mom and me, each with its own unique background. Most of the textiles I have used are around 30-50 years old, so do not expect perfection. The beauty of these pieces come from the stories that they convey.
