This shirt is crafted from a vintage melhafa, a traditional cloth worn by women in southern Tunisia, particularly in the region of Djerba. Once wrapped around bodies as everyday attire, this cloth now wraps history into form—transformed into a garment that honors its origin while offering it new life.
The textile, woven over half a century ago on a wooden loom, was personally sourced in Tunis from a family-run shop tucked deep within the city. There, two brothers—Youseff and Abdou—shared not just their fabrics, but their knowledge, hospitality, and pride in Tunisian heritage. Every bolt of cloth came with a story; every pattern held meaning.
This pair of shirts is a tribute to their generosity and to the cultural richness embedded in each thread. By wearing it, you become part of that story—one of endurance, craftsmanship, and reverence.
Made with pride, worn with intention.
